1000 writing prompts for students
Here are 1000 writing prompts for students. I put this list together myself. I’m not only an editor but also a teacher, and I know how difficult it is to find good writing prompts for students. I have used them every day in my classes. Sometimes, they are bell work, and sometimes, they are for longer pieces, but they are always to get the students thinking and writing.
After being on their phones all day, it’s hard sometimes to get students to put their thoughts together and focus on the issue of school or other essential subjects. These 1000 writing prompts for refocusing students and classroom discussions. I’ve broken these down into ten categories, each with 100 writing prompts per piece. So it’s 1000 prompts divided into 10.
I’ve used many of these prompts and put them into categories I know are essential to high school students, and most of them I would call high-interest prompts. How much of a crunch time teaching is, you hardly have time to run to the restroom, and sometimes, finding a good list of helpful topics to write about can be so beneficial.
If you like these prompts, please bookmark this page and return often. You are welcome to use any of these in any way you want.
