Welcome to our Search for a New Classic Christmas Poem Contest. This contest always seems like the most difficult contest we run. It gets low participation, but that just means you have a better chance of winning and getting published with us. We are asking for a Christmas poem. It can be any length, any subject. It can just be about the holidays in general, but when you go back in history, there are lots of Christmas poems, but only a few that stand out. We are looking for one of those that stand out. So here are the rules:
- Must be about Christmas or the holidays
- Can be any length
- Must EMAILED to us at eds [@] everywritersresource.com
- Deadline December 20, 2021
- Poem can be published elsewhere
Can enter as many times as you like
Prizes:
- Winners get published and featured on our site and in our digital/print issue
- Winners get promoted on our social networks
- Winners have a choice of ads on our site to promote a book or product that is writing related.
That’s it. It seems easy, but it seems like these days many writers have an aversion to writing about Christmas. The odds are good, if you write a poem for this contest you WILL be in our December issue. Send your entries to us by email (eds [@] everywritersresource.com DO NOT put your poems in the comments below. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

A Christmas love ,
that seems to go beyond heartbreak.
A Christmas love ,
that no words can’t speak.
A Christmas love that causes the heart and soul to grow.
So pass the measure of time.
A Christmas love ,
so strong and so true.
Here ‘s to A Christmas love , when it comes to me and you.
Angelyn says
The Joy !
of singing Christmas carols,
The Joy,
of drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows.
The Joy ,
of watching the lights on the Christmas tree.
The Joy,
that brings love and peace to you and me.

Light It Up Santa
It tickles me to see
The kids marching down the street
Mouth and eyes open wide
Heading to the lighting of the Christmas tree
And when the brass band plays
Santa glides in on his sleigh
And when that fine fellow flips the switch
The kids all cheer and say
Light it up, Santa
Won’t you light it up, Santa Claus
We won’t stop making jolly
Till all the girl’s hair is filled with sprigs of holly
Light it up, Dear Santa
Won’t you light it up, Santa Claus
Ain’t no rockin’ round this tree
Till you flip that E-LEC-TRIC-ITY
Yes, it’s true, the youngest hearts
May find an easy spark
Of Christmas cheer and spirit
When the pine tree lighting starts
But oldsters, don’t you fret
You’ ll find your own joy, yet
When you hear the kids fa-la-la’n
You’ll cheer right along and say
Light it up, Santa
Won’t you light it up Santa Claus
We won’t stop making jolly
Till all the girl’s hair is filled with sprigs of holly
Light it up, Dear Santa
Won’t you light it up, Santa Claus
Ain’t no rockin round this tree
Till you flip that E-LEC-TRIC-I-TY

A little Christmas Poem
One Christmas eve
while the air was cold,
a little angel, so I was told,
came flying down from heaven
In her hands a sparkling light,
that shone so soft and yet so bright.
It led the way she had to go,
down to earth, covered in snow.
As she landed on her tiny toes,
she looked around and smiled.
Gave her wings a little rest
on her way to the newborn child.
And of she went, into the night
that silent, holy night.
To bring the message of good will,
of peace on earth
and love to all mankind.
Keep this message in your mind,
for all the years to come.
And then this world of ours,
will be a world as one……..

That Christmas Feeling
It’s that time of year where the air is full of cheer and there are glad tidings all around
Turkey’s been consumed the atmosphere is perfumed with Christmas cookies being browned
Children are making lists while they reminisce about all the great Christmas’ of the past
Parties are plentiful with food that is delectable and everybody is having an absolute blast
The weather turns cold as Jack Frost becomes bold and uses his powers to freeze the land
Houses light up at night with festive Christmas lights and the Christmas trees are tall and grand
Decorated with such things as popcorn and silver strings of tinsel everywhere that you can see
Where bulbs of red, green, and blue flash in a colorful hue that creates feelings of such glee
Everyone has a smile on their face and there isn’t a trace of any angst, lament or worry
Ugly sweaters are a trend and every stranger is your friend and no one is in such a big hurry
The old year is almost gone and the new one will dawn at midnight on December 31st
Yes I truly love this time where everything feels to me so sublime that I could almost burst
Robert Feder says
We went to our den and there was St. Nick. “Santa, Hello, Happy Holidays. Did you know this is a Jewish house?”.
“Of course- Google Maps knows everything. We are Universalistic now.
Happy Chanukah, Chanukah Sameach and Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night. “
