From the Publisher
Each year, thousands of aspiring writers submit their works to agents and publishers, only to be told that there’s no room for the “new.” At Riddle Brook Publishing, we actively seek out the “new.”
We are looking for beginning writers from New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine and Massachusetts.
If you are a writer of narrative non-fiction and have an interesting story told with an interesting voice, then we’re here to encourage and support you. Riddle Brook Publishing was founded in 2011 with a very specific mission: to encourage beginning writers from New England and to give them a platform from which to publish their narrative non-fiction books.
Riddle Brook Publishing is interested in narrative non-fiction. We enjoy stories by people and about people, written with an engaging voice and driven by the author’s personal experiences.
I have several previous publications. Am I still able to submit my work to you?
While we are interested in writers just starting out, it’s fine if you have a few previous credits in your area of interest. We do, however, feel strongly that our mission is to encourage the NEW writer.
What arrangements do you have with your authors?
Riddle Brook Publishing works closely with authors to shape the final work. In addition, when possible we try to provide a small advance against royalties. Most importantly, authors retain their own copyrights.
Are there particular types of books that you do not publish?
We do not publish books for children, poetry, academic material, nor fiction of any kind. We also do not publish non-standard sizes nor hardbound books.
Submissions
We are interested in narrative non-fiction where the manuscripts are complete (or nearly complete). Examples of the kind of things we like: Mary Roach, Annie Dillard, Barry Lopez, Rick Bass. Have a voice and a point of view, and have an interesting story.
Please send a query letter (including a brief synopsis of your book and a bit about yourself) to:
Query [at] riddlebrookpublishing [dot] com
If we’re interested, we will request a proposal and/or a manuscript. Please be patient: it can take several weeks for us to respond.

Sevarion Nadiradze says
I’m the writer, Sevarion Nadiradze, author of several books. My mini-novel “The way of flour” translated into English. I wish my English translation appeared, publisher abroad, especially in the post-communist era it directly reflects the horror of what actually happened in the closed metal wall behind what was called the Soviet empire and the occupied Georgia for 200 years. I know most of the agencies and publishers have their clients, or mostly writers serve their country, but as the metal wall of the shed, which S.S.R. Feedback was called, we were captured by the country’s children appeared free, barrier-free space, and we believe that the new metal walls will be erected in front of us never cease, especially the boundaries of art can not tolerate. I have created in 2014 as a model even imagine in my book, and finally issued a symbolic 50 pieces presented here in Georgia and friends. This model P.D.F. I have saved and send you if you are interested in what I hope. This text auto translators translate and we apologize for that, is not perfect.

My book is a non fiction book on avoiding and solving the heroin crisis of our teens around the country. It is aimed at parents. Does your publishing house handle this type of book? Do you offer book marketing services?
