From the Publisher
Copper Pen Press publishes original fiction in the genre of Mystery/Suspense/Crime.
We are a small, independent publisher and we intend to keep it that way. Our goal is to publish three to five titles per year. This means we must be very selective in what we publish. Our low publishing rate allows us to dedicate as much time as needed to each of our titles. If you publish with us, we will strive to make your book the best it can be.
We run a bare-bones staff to maintain overhead low. Most of our publishing needs can be met in-house, but when something comes up that we can’t accomplish while maintaining our high standards of quality, we go outside our building to trusted, established partners.
We never charge reading, editing, or publication fees. However, we expect all submissions to be professionally edited before we receive them. Unedited or poorly edited manuscripts will be rejected.
Submissions
Copper Pen Press is currently seeking submissions of high-quality fiction for “Freakshow: Freakishly Fascinating Tales of Mystery and Suspense,” a forthcoming short story anthology set within the world of the traveling freak show. Writers can spin their yarns in the past, present, or future.
We are looking for dark, twisted and unusual mysteries with dark, twisted and unusual characters. We want that “what the…!” factor.
We will soon be posting a call of submissions for novel-length, fiction mystery/suspense manuscripts.
No splatterpunk. No erotica. No fantasy.
No horror – that is, not yet. We will be launching our horror imprint soon. Mmmmwwwwwahahahahaha.
