Information about your publication: | The original tablet literary magazine. The Digital Americana Magazine (DAM) launched as the first literary magazine made exclusively for tablets after having been accepted and made available with the first-round of iPad App store apps that came with the launch of the first-gen device. In April 2011 we completely redesigned the app through the Pixel Mags digital publishing platform and began offering issues in various print-on-demand sizes as well. In May 2012 we became part of Apple’s Newsstand store. We currently release issues seasonally. In all aspects of the art, literary content, culture, design, and journalism featured within our pages, we hope to offer a uniquely modern and American sensibility ? one that if experienced as the the sum of all these parts, could be seen as what we call Digital Americana. Issues are available for as low as $0.99. Print issues vary from between $9.99 ? $19.95. |
What type of submissions are you looking for?: | We look for thoughtfully-crafted literary submissions, which incorporate traditional elements of storytelling, but which also uniquely offer fresh ideas and/or capture an American sensibility, experience, or theme. Because our focus is on quality of work, the number of pieces published in each issue will vary. For complete guidelines: http://thedigitalamericana.com/submissions |
Tell us about upcoming events or contests: | On July 4th, 2012 we will be launching the “Great American Digital Storyteller’s Contest.” The exact details have yet to be announced, but in short it will require writers to think about the pushing the boundaries of what can be done with the creative software that is now readily available to us.
