From the Editor

Story Club Magazine is a literary journal for literary performance. We publish visceral nonfiction that has first been performed in front of a live audience. We utilize print, audio, and video in our attempt to capture the magic of a live reading and transmit it to readers around the world. We publish pieces from each of the Story Club live shows (Story Club Chicago North Side, Story Club Chicago South Side, Story Club Minneapolis, Story Club Boston) in addition to pieces from other live lit events. As well as publishing quarterly issues, we also have a Story of the Week feature where we will share a new story with readers every Wednesday.

Submissions

We accept pieces of nonfiction, 2000 words or less, that were first performed in front of an audience. We publish quarterly Issues in addition to a Story of the Week every Wednesday. We are currently reading submissions year round and all pieces will be considered for both our Issue and the Story of the Week. We aim to respond to all submissions within one month. To submit, please email your piece as a .doc, .docx, or PDF and include your name, the title of the piece, your contact information, and the name of the show where you performed the piece. Email to submissions at storyclubmagazine dot com. Please also include any audio/video you may have of the performance. We are currently unable to pay for pieces that we publish. We request first serial North American and electronic rights. All other rights remain with the author.
