Saw Palm: Florida Literature and Art
Website
From the Editor
Published by the students of the MFA Creative Writing Program at the University of South Florida, Saw Palm captures the unique experience of Florida life, landscape, and trope through the work of artists and writers in-state and out. Each yearly issue features both print and web editions with work unique to each. We offer a mix of stories, essays, poems, book reviews, and visual art that speaks to the diversity and uniqueness of the state. Our contributors include national and international award-winners, as well as emerging artists and writers, many of whom are first published here. We are excited about our 10th anniversary issue, showcasing our special Florida-Cuba theme.

Submissions
Saw Palm, the University of South Florida’s Florida-themed literary magazine, is planning a special issue on the Florida-Cuba connection. We invite submissions of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, comics, reviews, and art that addresses the experiences of Cubans and Cuban-Americans in Florida, including explorations of cubanidad and cubanía, exile, geographic and temporal nostalgia, and the tension or relationship between English and Spanish. We seek writing and art that serves as a bridge between Florida and Cuba, connecting two places with a complex, interdependent history. Work may be submitted in English or Spanish. Authors and artists need not be of Cuban descent or nationality to submit work.
