From the Editor
The Ibis Head Review is a quarterly literary webzine. The publication is dedicated to the idea that poetry is a necessary aspect of the human experience & it should be appreciated by people of all backgrounds—not just poets. It seeks to honor the intellectual dignity of the reading public by publishing nothing but genuinely meaningful & high-quality content from both established and emerging writers.
It seeks to join & be active in the growing conversation among the new generation of readers & writers surrounding the current place literature holds in modern society, as well as its future & long-term cultural relevance. Its goal is to feature poems, as well as critical essays & articles that focus on poetry & how it interacts with the modern world.
Submissions
The goal of T.I.H.R. is to publish poetry that reflects or relates to the collective human experience (e.g. love, hate, life, death, spirituality, etc.) in one way or another. I look for poetry that has the potential to resonate with someone on a deep level and move them to see the world in a different way.
All forms, tones, and styles are given equal weight during the editorial process and I encourage potential contributors to flex their creative muscles and send something you think I’ve never seen before.
