AndWeWereHungry is an online arts and literary magazine currently in development. We exist to celebrate the short story while also showcasing a mix of prose, poetry and visual arts by writers and artists from around the world and built community. Words and images are in conversation and we invite you to join. We launch in Spring 2013, visit us then for your fill of short stories and more. |

What type of submissions are you looking for? |
We also seek prose (short fiction, flash fiction, literary nonfiction, poetry, & essay), photography and visual artwork to feature in our themed quarterly issues (more than a 1000 words) and on our homepage’s weekly non-themed features section (up to a 1000 words). The submission theme or creative prompt for our debut issue is “…and we were hungry,” for after all haven’t we all been hungry for so many things? And isn’t it, in the words of Ray Bradbury, lack that gives us inspiration? We encourage writers and artists to interpret our debut issue theme freely. Submission deadline for publication in our debut issue is March 31, 2013. While there are no contest entry or submissions reading fees, we are not a paying market at this time.
