From the Editor
Great news! Big Pond Rumours has been re-launched. There are two issues a year (Summer and Winter) with a contest and Guest Judges for Poetry and Fiction in every issue. The deadline for Winter is November 30th and the deadline for Winter is June 30th. This E-Zine was founded by Sharon Berg (Publisher, Website Guru, Managing Editor) in January 2006 with the help of Brian Purdy (Contributing Editor). it was intended to be a Canadian periodical, but people submitting their work quickly turned it into a popular, international, literary periodical with fabulous illustrations. Big Pond Rumours took a hiatus from the Winter 2008 issue until now after Sharon’s father passed, but the crew is back and they even managed to obtain their original domain! Submit to the Contest for $15 or submit to the E-Zine for free.
Submissions
We are not bound to any particular genre in fiction or poetry. You can send us anything from a cowboy story to historical fiction to flash fiction. Or send us limericks, haiku, prose poems, traditional rhymes or free verse. What we are looking for is quality in the writing with strong characters and imagery and a good grasp of the style, rather than any specific form of writing.
Upcoming
Our next issue will be released around the end of January 2015. We are pleased to announce that the legendary Don Cullen will be our Poetry Judge and L.M. Falcone has returned as our Fiction Judge. The deadline for submission to that issue is November 30th, 2014.
