Bookforum Magazine
Website
From the Editor
Since 1994, Bookforum has showcased daring writing about the important ideas of our time, with incisive essays on politics, pop culture, fiction, and the arts. The magazine follows in the rich tradition of its sister publication, Artforum, featuring reviews of contemporary culture by both distinguished figures and exciting new voices. Today it is one of the three largest book review publications in the world.
Published five times a year, Bookforum covers the best books of the season, from blockbusters to literary titles to essential works published by independent, art-book, and university presses. The website is also updated daily with original content.
Current Affairs & Politics:
Upholding the highest standards of journalistic and critical integrity, contributors weigh in on policy, economics, and culture.
Fiction:
Bookforum seeks out the most intriguing and challenging fiction, poetry, and cultural criticism for coverage and assigns those books to talented reviewers with unique, surprising insights.
Arts & Letters:
From academic and trade titles to art-press publications, Bookforum maintains a strong commitment to the arts in reviews, brief illustrated takes, and each issue’s “Artful Volumes” spread.
Bookforum is read by professional, educated, and informed book buyers, many of whom do not subscribe to other book reviews. Our international distribution of 40,000 includes not only Bookforum subscribers but also all domestic Artforum subscribers, as well as a rapidly growing newsstand circulation, with a total audience of 140,000.
