From the Editor:
Driftwood Press is an avant-garde online literary journal seeking to push the boundaries of contemporary fiction, poetry, and visual art. Established in 2013, we provide an inclusive platform for new voices and diverse perspectives often underrepresented in the literary landscape.
We welcome submissions of experimental, lyrical fiction under 1,000 words, flash CNF up to 5,000 words, prose poetry, poetry of all lengths and styles, photography, and visual art. While we appreciate many genres, we are especially interested in boundary-pushing work that subverts expectations, takes risks, and expands the possibilities of literary form.
We are drawn to character-driven flash fiction that explores the complex emotional landscapes of contemporary life. We love prose poetry with striking imagery and a strong lyrical voice. Personal essays tackling ambitious themes of identity, social justice, technology, and the environment also resonate with our editorial tastes. In poetry, we are looking for innovative use of structure, form, and language.
Driftwood Press publishes quarterly issues showcasing stunning new writing and art by emerging and established voices. We are committed to featuring underrepresented writers, celebrating diverse perspectives, and pushing the evolution of contemporary literature.
