Foxes Dancing Around
Website
From the Editor
Welcome to Foxes Dancing Around! Here, we want to give a welcoming environment to writers of all kinds, especially writers who have never had their work published before. We want to be able to share all kinds of primarily fiction writing, and we want to be a happy, safe environment for all to submit their work! This is the official description on the website. Foxes Dancing Around is a brand-new literary journal dedicated to sharing work that people are especially proud of. If there are stories or poems a writer has created that keep getting rejected, this is the place to submit them. We’re looking for writers of all kinds from all different communities and from all over the world, and if we like what we see, we may consider expanding our repertoire to include more than just poems and short stories. However, we love short work of all kinds, and we want this journal to be an easy read for all who access it. We want to be able to encourage various forms of writing, whether it be straightforward or experimental, and we want people to be able to express themselves in the ways they feel most comfortable with. While the forms are limited in that we only accept short stories or poems at this time, we want people who potentially like longer work to experiment with a form that they are perhaps uncomfortable with. We want people to be able to explore complex situations in a short-form format, and most importantly, we want people to have fun writing! We want to be able to bring fun back to writing, and we want to be able to allow writers to start their portfolio of published work. Hopefully, people will be able to do just that — have fun with their writing!
Submissions
Currently, Foxes Dancing Around has these submission guidelines: Stories between 500 and 10,000 words (flash fiction or short story) Poems between 4 and 200 stanzas We do not tolerate homophobia, racism, sexism, ableism, or xenophobia of any kind. While this is an English-language journal, we want to encourage writers of any language to submit their stories here! If your work is accepted, it will be published side-by-side with an English translation! Important Clarification! If your work has been published in a journal that has since disappeared without a trace (i.e., no one can access the work anymore), it is considered unpublished. However, if the journal is still accessible online in a digital or physical edition, it is considered published. We’re looking for submissions of all different forms, whether they be experimental or straightforward, and we want people to have fun with the primary theme. We want people to be able to submit what they feel they’re most proud of, and we want people to be able to say “I have my favorite piece published in a journal and I’m proud of it.”
Upcoming
Right now, we are looking for stories and poems for our first issue, with a theme of grief.
