From the Publisher
about Lines + Stars began as a means of establishing a new creative forum in Washington, D.C., a city that all-too-often coasts solely on its more mechanistic pursuits. While many of our contributors hail from the D.C. area, we’ve also expanded our writer-base to include national and international voices. Lines + Stars welcomes poetry and short fiction of all types. In general, we commend the experimental and eschew the inane. If you have some background in the literary realm—perhaps can tell the difference between a spondee and a trochee that’s wonderful, but it’s not necessary. Novice and seasoned writers are welcome here; it is the quality and strength of the work that ultimately determines its inclusion in our journal. Lines + Stars has just published the winter 2017 issue.

Lines + Stars began in 2006 as a means of establishing a new creative forum in Washington, DC — a city that all-too-often coasts on its more mechanistic pursuits. As of 2017, we operate out of Baltimore, Maryland. While many of our contributors hail from DC and the mid-Atlantic area, we’ve also expanded our writer base to include national and international voices.
