From the Editor
Mothers Always Write is a new online literary magazine for mothers by mother writers. As mother writers, we know there are endless numbers of mother writers who love to write about raising their children. Writing about parenting is how we come to understand our children and how we preserve the memories. We want to provide a place for mother writers to share their literary writing and their parenting experience. We believe parenting is one of life’s highest callings and we want to honor that calling with the pieces we publish. We hope to rid our readers of that “I wish I knew that earlier” kind of feeling that so often plagues parents and provide mother writers a place to find comfort.
Submissions
We publish poetry (no more than 3 poems and no longer than 25 lines) and essays (up to 2,000 words) about the parenting experience. We look for literary quality and parenting insight. We also publish blog posts describing a parenting experience or sharing parenting wisdom (up to 1,000 words). We also will consider micro nonfiction (up to 300 words) about a parenting experience or insight. We hope to publish reviews of books relating to parenting in the near future.
Upcoming
We are doing a giveaway. Numbered subscribers will receive a poetry chapbook about motherhood to be send to their designated mom.
