Pithead Chapel
From the editor
Pithead Chapel is a small, independent and volunteer-run journal out of Michigan?s Upper Peninsula. At present, we?re only a monthly electronic journal; however, that could change over time to include printed issues.
From the site:
Pithead Chapel is an independent and volunteer-run literary journal and small press founded in 2012 in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We publish art, fiction, nonfiction, and prose poetry online every month by emerging and established artists.
Submissions
At Pithead Chapel, we’re looking for engaging stories told in honest voices. Most of all, we want to feel something. We want to reach the last word and immediately crave more. We want your work to leave a brilliant bruise. Send us your gutsiest narrative and we?ll do our best to get your voice heard.
Fiction and Nonfiction
From the site:
Pithead Chapel electronically publishes art, literary fiction, nonfiction, and prose poetry monthly. At present, we only accept submissions under 4,000 words. All submissions that follow our guidelines below will be considered for an upcoming issue. Because of Submittable’s costs and policies, we cap our submissions at 300 per month across all genres, and will close our windows early if we reach this cap, re-opening on the 1st of the following month.
