Information about your publication: | Poecology is a new literary e-journal for poetry, fiction and nonfiction about ecology, place, and the environment. In an age of increasing disconnection from the physical world and the myriad communities of people, plants, animals and topographies, Poecology seeks to revitalize interconnectedness. The writing published here will meditate on ecological and place-based themes from various perspectives and aesthetics, pushing boundaries and experimenting whenever possible. Poecology publishes emerging and established writers from around the world. Each fall we will hold literary readings in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, where the journal is based. Please visit www.poecology.org for more information. |
What type of submissions you are looking for: | Send up to 10 pages of poetry, fiction, or nonfiction. Submitted work must focus on ecological, environmental, or place-based themes. We particularly like work that focuses on complex human responses to environmental issues. This theme can be treated directly, thematically, or abstractly. Experimental work, international writers, and marginalized perspectives are highly encouraged. Submissions are accepted year-round; if you miss the submission deadline for the current year’s issue, your work will still be considered for next year’s publication. |
