From the Editor
Slattery’s Art of Horror Magazine is a fledgling online publication exploring the art of writing horror in all forms: prose, poetry, screenplays, theater, and anything else imaginable. I need articles discussing the art of writing horror as well as fiction and poetry demonstrating how to write horror. I hope to reach out to a global audience, therefore translations of fiction, poetry, or non-fiction articles from German, French, and Spanish are welcome.
Submissions
I am looking for flash or micro fiction that demonstrates the art of writing horror, whether it be prose, poetry, one-act plays, or any other form of literature. I want to showcase the genre in all its subtlety, beauty, intelligence, art, horror, terror, suspense, and gruesome detail. I also want to push its limits and show how it can blend with other genres–with the challenging limit of staying under 1,000 words while making an intellectual and emotional connection with the reader. Do your best, most imaginative, most professional work.
I am also looking for non-fiction articles on the art of writing horror. Please keep these to under 1,000 words as well

The Art of Horror has been replaced by The Chamber Magazine, which is thriving as of early 2023. How can I update the information shown here?
