From the Editor
Really System, a new journal of poetry and extensible poetics, will publish its first issue in January 2014. We seek new, interesting writing that exhibits a keen awareness of the forms, patterns, and channels through which we find ourselves connected with other people, other things, other worlds. We are looking for vibrant poems inflected by our shared technocultural moment and the ways it envelops us, fascinates us, dances with us, ignores us, and fails us. We are open to poems of any length or form. Really System’s approach to extensible poetics will take the form of features published during the periods between issues in RS_Lab, offering alternate visualizations, statistical analyses, and recombinations of the text published in each issue. Really System will be published quarterly online, with a small-run print annual featuring highlights from the year’s poetry and experiments. If you feel your work is a good match for Really System, we invite you to submit your poems to us.
Submissions
Please submit three to five poems in a single .pdf, .doc, .docx or .txt file (no more than 10 pages, unless it’s only a little more than 10 pages). Please do not include your name anywhere on the manuscript, and no cover letter is necessary. If your work is accepted we will be in touch for a brief biographical note. Please hold off on sending additional groups of poems until you’ve heard from us. Simultaneous submissions are just fine, so long as you notify us if your work is accepted for publication elsewhere. Please do not submit work that has been published elsewhere.
