Tattoo Highway
Website
From the Publisher
Tattoo Highway is an online journal of poetry, literary fiction and nonfiction, original graphics and photography. Most issues have a theme, which may be interpreted literally or (very) loosely. 2017: “Down the Rabbit Hole.”
TH has a unique look and feel; we are graphics-heavy, and have never tried to replicate a print publication. Our tastes are eclectic. We value originality, clarity, authenticity, and fierce, vivid language. Humor can be a plus, as can outrage. We’ve been publishing, usually 2 issues/year since 1998. On hiatus 2014 – 6/2017, now back in business.
Submissions
Poetry — most of what we take is free verse, but we encourage submission of formal poems too. Poems that depend on highly unusual formatting are above our html programming pay grade.
Short fiction. We like flash, micro and other short forms. No real limit on length, except that our preference is for “screen friendly” stories of < 2000 words.
Creative nonfiction — again, < 2000 words preferred.
Prosepoems, lyric essays and other cross-genre works. We encourage these.
NOT looking for: “genre” material — horror, romance, religion, porn, etc.
