From the Editor
The A3 Review is a literary magazine that behaves like a map, made by the folks who make Writing Maps. Prose and poetry pieces are written with a 150-word limit in response to a themed monthly writing contest. Twelve winners are published in the biannual review, and three overall winners receive cash prizes. Upcoming themes include: Tea & Coffee, Green Things, and Hands.
Submissions
Our submissions are in response to monthly themed contests. We publish poetry and prose, graphic stories or snippets of memoir, fiction or autobiography, sci-fi or mis mem, erotic or academic. Maximum 150 words.

Playground Games.
Deadline: 25th April
Skipping, marbles, jacks, conkers. You’re IT! In just 150 words, tell the story of a school playground game. Tell the story of playing, winning, avoiding, dreading, leading, loving or hating the things that happen before and after school, during break time or recess, the teams and the tournaments. Write about playground games in any form. Maximum 150 words.
Tea and Coffee
Deadline: 23rd May
Or should we say: tea and/or coffee? Write about a memorable tea or coffee experience, yours or a character’s. Herbal teas, jasmine tea, lotus tea, mate in Argentina or matcha in Japan. Tea ceremonies and coffee shops. Tea when you’re ill, coffee in the morning or when you’re writing late at night. Tea and coffee habits. Write about tea and/or coffee in any form. Maximum 150 words.
