From the Editor
The Citron Review is an online literary journal created and edited by alumni of the esteemed Antioch University Los Angeles M.F.A. Program. We seek submissions of resonant beauty in the form of micro-fiction, flash fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. Electronic submissions only via our submissions manager: thecitronreview.submishmash.com/submit. You can also see full guidelines on our website. Please stop by: thecitronreview.wordpress.com.
From the site: The Citron Review started back in 2009 when a group of writers decided to create a literary venue that celebrates short literature. These writers had all graduated from the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program at Antioch University in Los Angeles, where they were collectively known as The Citrons. So they named the journal The Citron Review.
Submissions
At the Citron Review we walk the tight rope of danger and restraint. We crave smart, tight words with emotional impact. Spare us sloppy or cute. Give us the brave shimmer. We are delighted by the economy of the super short form. Think efficiency, brevity and intimacy. Send us flash and micro fiction, nonfiction, memoir and artwork.
We use Submittable to manage all submissions to The Citron Review. Email and snail mail submissions are not accepted. All currently open submission categories are detailed on the Submittable page. All genres read submissions from February 1st until about December 6th.
Each month, our submissions may close briefly, if/when we reach our Submittable limit.
