From the Editor

The Renaissance was an artistic revival during the 14th through the 16th century that revolutionized the art world. As our namesake suggests, The Renaissance is a digital literary magazine dedicated to publishing revolutionary and exemplary works of short fiction, poetry, and essays. We publish genre as well as literary, we regard contemporary works as highly as the classics, and we are fans of both experimental and traditional work. So long as a story makes us feel alive, there is a place for it in The Renaissance.

Submissions

We are looking for short fiction (up to 10,000 words), poetry (up to 50 lines), and essay (up to 10,000 words) submissions written in mostly English. We publish both traditional and experimental works and genres as well as literary fiction. We love character-driven stories as much as theme- and world-driven stories. We refuse to limit greatness to a box so send us anything and everything! Be sure to adhere to the following guidelines before submitting for publication: Only submit through Submittable All submissions should be formatted with a 12-point Times New Roman font Fiction and essays should not exceed 10,000 words Poems should not exceed 50 lines Simultaneous submissions are allowed but please withdraw your submission if it is accepted elsewhere Only submit works that are (for the majority) written in English We hold First Rights and All Rights for 2 months after the work is published Submissions are now OPEN
