The Town Square a Literary Magazine
Website
From the Editor
A service-disabled, veteran-founded, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, The Town Square a Literary Magazine works to provide a platform for artistic growth and exploration with a select emphasis on our military-affiliated community members. In support of veterans and military service members in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) The Town Square offers information on creative therapeutic resources; while also serving as a platform for writers from all walks of life to share their unique themes, styles, and voices. Featuring civilians, military family members, service members, and veterans our publication houses an eclectic arrangement of poetry, short stories, and flash fiction. Having a strong foundation to build off of when reentering civilian life is paramount in every veteran’s journey. Here at The Town Square, we encourage service members and veterans to incorporate creativity into the mortar of that foundation. To help fuel the success of our local veterans we have created The Town Square’s After-Action Review (AAR), a collection of veteran-centric resources that will be featured in every volume.
Submissions
The Town Square is open to reviewing poetry, flash fiction, and short story submissions. There is no cost to submit and no requirements of military service or connection. Simultaneous submissions are encouraged. We do not have any limitations or guidelines for themes or motifs, as long as they are not inappropriate in nature. The types of work that we love to see are accessible to multiple audiences, have layers of complexity, and are relatable in nature. Collaborative artistic connections are of the utmost importance at The Town Square, which is why we work diligently to provide constructive feedback to every writer who submits to our publication. Accepted works will be featured in our print and online volume. Whether you are just starting out or are a seasoned pro we encourage you to submit and join The Town Square community.
