From the Publisher
Vulpecula Poetica (“Little Fox Poetry”) is an annual anthology that emphasizes creative nonfiction poetry and poetry that plays with form published by Fortuna Major Press. Vulpecula Poetica is free to submit to, accepts previously published work, and provides complementary digital copies of the publication to its contributors. Vulpecula Poetica does not accept predominantly AI-derivative work. Vulpecula Poetica first opened for submissions through Fortuna Major Press in October 2024 with its inaugural issue, Memory, set to release in the summer of 2025. Fortuna Major Press publishes the work of emerging and established healers, organizers, artists, storytellers, and cultural catalysts because creativity is a powerful form of resistance to cultures of oppression. Fortuna Major Press is a proud member of the Community of Literary Magazines & Presses (CLMP). As part of Fortuna Major Press’s vision for a more just, liberated future Vulpecula Poetica contributes a portion of its proceeds to organizations nurturing community care, political education, and collective power.
Submissions
Vulpecula Poetica seeks creative nonfiction poetry and poetry that plays with the boundaries of form. Vulpecula Poetica will not publish work rooted in domination, supremacy, and dismissal of collective pain. Any work that even remotely resembles white supremacy, ableism, ageism, classism, sexism, homophobia, racism, xenophobia, or appropriation will be denied. AI uses a vast array of intellectual property to generate “new” work without the consent of the humans whose work has been used as “inspiration”. At the same time, AI can be a significant accessibility tool at various stages of the creative process across mediums. While a consensus on the ethics and best practices of integrating AI in the creative process are being developed among artists, writers, creatives, programmers, and more it is the policy of Vulpecula Poetica to not accept predominantly AI generated artwork or AI generated writing. AI-supported works will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Vulpecula Poetica welcomes previously published work and simultaneous submissions given it has the proper copyright to be (re)distributed. It is the responsibility of each individual to ensure they have the proper copyright before submitting and disclose any previous publications for each piece of submitted work.
