From the Editor
We call the Water Cooler Convos. It’s nerdy. It’s artsy. It’s bourgie. And it is a place for discussion. It is the mission of Water Cooler Convos to critique hip-pop culture, politics, and entertainment news for blerds (black nerds) and hipsters of color utilizing a liberal dose of sarcasm and a pinch of snark. We will take on the difficult discussions that no one else will. And, we will do it with pizazz. We serve a niche audience of blerds, geeks, urban professionals, bloggers, and music lovers who happen to coalesce around the intrepid nature of modern life. We are here to supply them all with a contemporary soap box or just simply, a water cooler.
Submissions
Water Cooler Convos will be hosting it’s first literary series where we will accept personal accounts from our readers. This series is called “Life…on the margins.” We will accept essays, non-fiction, and poetry. We welcome seasoned writers and those who have never written before to share their stories with the Water Cooler Community. This is an opportunity to highlight the unique conditions faced by racial, gender, sexual, and religious minorities who continue to face marginally negative treatment from mainstream society. Some people claim that simply ignoring discrimination or harsh treatment in public spaces makes it disappear. They claim that blindness is the solve for perceived animus and hatred. We know better. We want to hear your truth.
