Program Description
Mississippi University for Women offersr a Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing. It is a 48-hour program that can be completed in two to three years (or longer if students choose to attend part time). Students take online classes, combined with two types of residency classes (5-10 days). Online classes include Graduate Writing Workshops in Fiction, Poetry, Nonfiction, Playwriting, Translation, and Writing for New Media, as well as Literature and Form classes. We offer a program that is flexible, affordable, and professional: full-time or part-time schedules, in-state tuition for all students, and opportunities for internships, magazine production, and other career-oriented courses and experiences. Residencies can be completed in the summer. 5-day residencies are also offered at other times of the year.
