I’m worried about you
by Angela Carrano
You lay yourself bare
and make it look graceful.
begging someone
to love you.
Pathetic.
It disgusts me,
how much I envy you.
Holding your heart out to strangers and monsters
with a fearless intimacy.
God damn? it’s beautiful.
But I have a bitter heart
safely nestled away behind skin and ice.
And I will destroy yours,
just because.
