Intruding Breeze
by Zane Castillo
The pale curtains flutter as a breeze,
surges through the broken windows.
Empty soda bottles,
and used condoms,
blow away to various positions.
Mice scatter in fear;
seeking safe corners.
Leaves and dirt pile against peeling walls,
rancid odors dissipate for a few moments;
surrendering to the intruding breeze.
